Welcome to NAK

Welcome to Camp Nakanawa! We look forward to seeing you at camp and want to provide you with in-depth arrival and departure details for your planning and ease of mind.

We strive to make parents’ and campers’ experiences smooth and enjoyable on the opening and closing days of camp. You will find helpful resources below for the transportation of campers and their luggage.

Transportation

Campers arrive and depart from Camp Nakanawa by both car and air. Many of our campers fly into the Nashville International Airport (BNA) where we meet and escort them via chartered vans and buses chaperoned by our counselor staff for the two-hour trip to Crossville, Tennessee. Likewise, campers who fly home are transported back to the airport for the flight home the day after closing ceremonies. Airline flights must be into/out of Nashville, Tennessee, and arrive/depart between 8:00 am and 12:00 p.m. (CDT) on the opening/closing day of the camp session.

Campers who live within driving distance to Camp Nakanawa may choose ground transportation by car and will need to be dropped off and picked up by a parent or legal guardian. Written permission is required if returning home with anyone other than a parent or legal guardian.

Luggage Shipment

Luggage can be shipped in advance. We recommend that you ship luggage via FedEx or UPS so that it will arrive one week prior to the opening date of camp. You can call the camp office at (931) 277-3711 and check on your daughter’s luggage to verify receipt. The luggage will be placed in your daughter’s cabin upon arrival.

We require that luggage be shipped home via FedEx if your daughter is flying home. The only exception is for international campers. Luggage to be shipped will be sent the following business day, after the close of the session. You can expect to receive the luggage within a week after shipping depending on where you live. Once Nakanawa receives the charges from Fedex, we will bill you accordingly.
